Panel discussion: Digital Twins as local decision-making tools? The case of Belgium

After a short academic introduction to urban digital twins and their usages, among which crisis management, 3 Belgian entities (ViTO, Ghent and SPI) will briefly present their Digital Twin projects: what needs does it answer? How is it being developed? Who are they collaborating with?

Then from 10h45, a Discussion Panel will investigate if, and how, digital twins are being deployed in Belgian cities as a support to local decision-making. During 30 minutes, we will exchange on different brakes and levers to their deployement, including data production and actors collaborations. The panel will be moderated by Audrey Lebas, researcher at the Smart City Institute (HEC ULiège). With Lieven Raes (Digital Vlaanderen), Aude Robert (City of Brussels) and Pieter-Jan Pauwels (City of Ghent).
